YiwenRuan is currently the Professor of the GHMICR /Department ofAnatomy, Jinan University School of Medicine. Dr. Ruan Got her M.D. in 1982, master and doctoral degrees in Neurobiology in 1987 and 2000 from Zhongshan University School of Medicine. She has been a faculty in the Department of Anatomy of this university from 1982 to 2000. During 2000 to 2008, she worked at Indiana University School of Medicine in the United States to investigate the mechanism underlying neuronal death after cerebral ischemia. She was recruited as a professor in the Department of Human Anatomy, Jinan University School of Medicine since October 2008. Dr. Ruan mainly engaged in studies of cerebral ischemia, brain development, brain aging and Alzheimer’s disease, neural stem cells and spinal cord injury. Her researches were supported by NNSFC, 973 program, Ministry of Health Funding, Guangdong Province and the Open Fund of The First Affiliated Hospital, Jinan University. Dr. Ruan has published almost 70 scientific papers. Many of them were published in journals with higher impact factors in the Neuroscience field such as the J. Neurosci., Stroke, Exp. Neurol., Frontiers, Sci. Rep. and JCBFM and so on. She has been received seven awards for her researches.
