Ang Li, M.D., Ph.D., Associate Professor, Investigator of GHMICR. He obtained his M.D., as well as M.Sc. of Ophthalmology and certification of physician from Sun Yat-sen Univ. School of Medicine and Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center in 2005 and 2007, respectively, followed by a four-year postdoctoral training in Dept. of Physiology, Univ. of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, where he focused on the pathogenesis of glaucoma. Dr. Li enrolled in the Ph.D. program in the Univ. of Hong Kong between 2011 and 2015, where he explored the mechanism mediating physical exercise-elicited enhancement of hippocampal neurogenesis and anti-depressive action. His current interest lies in the mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration, as well as the novel interventions modulating adult neurogenesis and subsequent brain plasticity.
