Introduction

Shi Lingling obtained M.D. and Ph.D. degree from Jinan University School of Medicine. She did postdoctoral training on human genomics at the University of Southern California, USA. Dr. Shi’s current research interests include: 1. Investigate the functional genetic link of targeted gene difficient and neurodevelopment in induced ploripotent stem cell derived neural stem cell models or transgenic mice, to find out why genetic mutations in some synaptic genes, including point mutations and copy number variants (CNVs), predispose to neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism and schizophrenia. 2. Application of Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) techniques, including whole genome sequencing and RNA-Seq, to study the genetic basis of human diseases and the functional consequences of mutations on gene expression.
