Libing Zhou is currently a neurobiology professor and the associate dean at Guangdong-Hongkong-Macau Institute for CNS Regeneration, Jinan University. Dr. Zhou obtained Bachelor degree of clinic medicine from Yunyang Medical College in 1997, Master degree of human anatomy & Histology & Embryology from Sun Yat-Sen University in 2003 and Ph.D. of Neurobiology from University of Catholic Louvain, Belgium in 2008. He joined Jinan University and started to establish the Neuroscience Research Team in 2009. His group mainly focuses on molecular mechanisms of axonal growth, spinal cord injury and repair, and neural plasticity. Dr. Zhou has published more than 30 peer review papers, such as in Science, Nat Comm, Nat Neurosci, PANS, J. Neurosci, Cereb Cortex. He was honored as a candidate for “Program for New Century Excellent Talents” in 2009, “Guangdong Hundred, Thousand and Ten Talent project” in 2010 and “Leading Talents of Guangdong Special Plans” in 2014. Dr. Zhou received about 20 grants including two 973 Projects and five NSFCs.
