Prof. Ying Xu’s laboratory is currently focus on the treatment of retinal degeneration and related mechanisms, using animal models of rodent and non-human primate, as well as cell lines. Her research interest include:
(1) Explore strategies to protect degenerated retina in various animal models and restore vision.
(2) Explore the underlying mechanisms of photoreceptor degeneration.
(3) Explore the retinal degeneration in brain degenerated diseases like Alzheimer’s disease.
