There is currently no way to reverse or delay the onset and progression of the neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, which not only impose a heavy economic and emotional burden to the patient's family, but also brings more and more severe challenges to the social medical care system. Our research group is committed to expanding knowledge on early diagnosis and intervention for neurodegenerative diseases via variety of tool such as gene editing, molecular genetics, molecular pathology, molecular imaging (ultrasound, MRI, PET) and behavioral analysis, finally promote clinical translational research. Our current primary research directions focus on:
1. Molecular mechanism of Alzheimer's disease pathology;
2. Generation of novel non-human primate (monkey) model of Alzheimer's disease;
3. Generation of novel non-human primate (monkey) model of Parkinson's disease;
4. Pathological mechanisms of Huntington's disease in early development stage.
